Fred McKinney’s new book, And Finally, Perspectives and Humor of Minority Business Development is now available in print.  The book is a compilation of five years of weekly comments in the Connecticut Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC) e-newsletter.  The subject matter ranges from the challenges minority businesses face in their struggle to become successful entrepreneurs to leadership lessons learned from observing everyday occurrences.

All proceeds from sales of the book are being donated to the CMSDC.  The CMSDC is a 501-c3 Connecticut corporation.  The CMSDC’s mission is to significantly increase opportunities for certified minority business enterprises.  The CMSDC is the Connecticut affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council.  The CMSDC has over 120 corporate members and 225 certified MBEs.  In 2006, certified MBEs in the CMSDC had combined sales of over $6.6 billion and employed over 20,000 employees, of which 60 percent were minority workers. 

Dr. McKinney earned his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. Dr. McKinney has also attended the Tuck School of Management’s Executive Management Program for Minority Entrepreneurs and attended the Kellogg’s School of Business Minority Director’s Program. Continue
